The directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances, better known as RoHS-directive, decrees that new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market as of 1 July 2006 shall not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).
All printed circuit boards manufactured by GS Praezisions AG are already RoHS compliant except PCBs finished with traditional HASL or Galvatronic hard gold or if the PCB is produced with particular custom specific materials.
As a substitute for conventional HASL, GS Praezisions AG offers lead-free HASL as well as a wide range of other surface finishes. In the case of PCBs with lead-free HASL, the package is marked with a lead-free sign. On demand, a mark on the PCB itself is also possible. |
